This standard uses a Pensky Martens closed flash point tester to test flammable liquids with a flash point exceeding 40°C, liquids containing suspended solids, liquids that tend to form a film on the surface under test conditions, and other liquids. Two methods, A and B, for determining the flash point of a liquid are specified.
