- This technical guidance document proposes recommendations to be followed when developing procedures for capturing and storing electronic images of documents, and these recommendations will ensure the preservation and integrity of the information recorded on the documents. This guiding technical document applies to optical storage systems that store electronic images of documents on write-once-read-many (WORM) media (CD-ROM). It does not apply to systems where imagery can be erased or changed after capture.
