This standard specifies methods for the laboratory measurement of the airborne sound isolation performance of small building components under diffuse sound field conditions. The measurement results obtained with this standard can be used, for example, to develop small building components with appropriate acoustic performance, to evaluate their performance in terms of sound insulation properties, and to evaluate their influence on the sound insulation performance of building bulkheads. . This standard applies to small building components with an area of 1 m or less, excluding windows and doors. Small building components covered by this standard must be installed on the partition wall or exterior wall between two adjacent rooms, and even if multiple parts are installed on the wall, they must be spaced at regular intervals, and the spacing must be clearly defined. Therefore, there is no change in performance due to mutual interference, and the performance is measured as independent performance. Examples of equipment covered by this standard are as follows. Ventilation equipment Ventilation fan Outside air intake Electrical piping (cable duct) Closed transportation system When a system consists of a combination of multiple parts, and the sound insulation performance changes depending on the combination, the performance of each part shall be specified in this standard. It is not necessarily appropriate to evaluate by method.
