- This standard specifies the technical requirements for the diagnosis of avian reticuloendothelial hyperplasia. It includes two aspects: detection of specific serum antibodies to avian reticuloendotheliosis virus (REV); detection of infectious REV in disease materials and biological products. This standard is applicable to: detection of REV-specific antibodies to determine whether poultry groups (farms) or individuals have been infected with REV; especially suitable for sampling a large number of samples for REV infection in SPF chicken farms; detection of diseases in suspected sick poultry whether infectious REV is present in the feed or in some attenuated vaccines.
