Scope
This standard recommends the combined operating procedures for a pair of slide projectors controlled by recordings on cassette tapes, thereby expanding the scope of application of standard IEC 574-10 "Audio-visual, video and television equipment and systems, Part 10: Audio cassette systems" . This approach can be equally applied to open-reel tape systems. The main purpose of this standard is to ensure compatibility of programs produced with various equipment. Rules are established for how to edit the graphic portion of a program and for the correct steps to begin showing a program. These rules apply to all dual projector systems with different control methods. There are three types of control systems: a) Pulse tone b) Frequency modulated continuous tone c) Digital type This standard only specifies the requirements for pulse tone operation. The other two categories will be dealt with separately.
