- This standard gives methods for measuring the electrical performance of frequency demodulators. Since line-of-sight radio relay systems generally do not require threshold characteristics, this chapter does not include the measurement of threshold characteristics. Furthermore, where possible, only basic demodulator measurements are involved, not equipment consisting of a de-emphasis network and a combined network of sound carrier wave signals, pilot signals, and auxiliary signals. Chapter 4 gives the measurement method of frequency modulator. Measurements between baseband terminals of modulator/demodulator combinations are described in the chapters of Part 3 of this series of standards.
