- This standard specifies the design criteria and corresponding test items for the fire suitability of materials in aircraft cabins. Including design requirements for flammability, seat cushion combustion, flame penetration resistance, heat release rate, smoke density and toxic gases. This standard applies to the selection of materials and fire suitability design for passenger cabins and cargo compartments of newly designed and modified aircraft carrying 20 or more passengers.
