This part of EN 71 specifies requirements and test methods for substances and materials used in chemical toys (devices) other than test devices. It specifies:
——Maximum limits for hazardous substances and preparations as defined in Directive 67/548/EEC (including subsequent amendments and revisions) and Directive 88/379/EEC (including subsequent amendments and revisions);
——In the event of overdose Maximum limits for substances and preparations that are harmful to children's health, which are not included in the directives mentioned above;
——Maximum limits for other substances or preparations delivered with toys. In addition, requirements for signs, warnings, safety procedures, capacity catalogs, instructions for use and first aid are specified. EN 71 This part may be applied to:
——plaster model installations;
——ceramic and enamel materials for use in small installations:
——molding clay installations of oven-hardened plasticized PVC:
——molding installations:
——embedded installations;
——Photographic equipment;
——Adhesives, coatings, paints, varnishes, thinners and cleaning agents supplied or recommended for models.
