- This part of EN 599 specifies for each of the fivehazard classes defined in EN 335-1, requirements forclassifying and marlang wood preservative productsaccording toTheir performance and suitability for use.This part of EN 599 is applicable to all woodpreservative products supplied for application in liquidform forThe preventive treatment of timbers (structuraland non-structural) against wood-attaclang fun乡,wood-attaclang insects and marine organisms asdescribed in HD 1001 and EN 335-1. However it is onlyapplicable to products for preventive treatmentsagainst fungi causing disfigurement (blue stain) ofwood in service ifThis forms part of the overallpreventive effectiveness of the product.This part of EN 599 is not applicable to woodpreservative products supplied for application aspastes, solids or in capsule form becauseThey cannotbe tested without modification of the biolo乡cal testsdemanded inThis standard. It does not apply either towood preservative products for remedial (curative)treatments, to those applied to prevent fun乡causingsap stain on green(功iseasoned) timber or to thoseapplied solely to prevent fungi causing disfigurement和lue stain) of wood in service.
