- This standard specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements and markings of V-belts and pulleys used in oil fields. This standard gives recommended practices for the following: a) V-belt drive design; b) V-belt maintenance and use; c) Measurement of V-belt drive tension; d) Calculation of the load acting on shafts and bearings by V-belts . This standard applies to V-belts used in oilfield machinery transmission; this standard does not apply to ISO V-belts (SP section) and patterned V-belts.
