Scope

This SAE Recommended Practice covers the transmission output shaft mounted signal rotor andsensor mounting hole used for electronic speed sensing on Class 6, 7, and 8 highway vehicles.1.1 Purpose—To standardize the number of discontinuities sensed (such as teeth or slots) per revolution of thetransmission output shaft.
