Scope
This procurement specification covers studs made from A286 alloy of the type identified under the Unified Numbering System as UNS S66286 which have integrated locking keys to prevent rotation of the stud when installed in the prepared hole. Classification: 140 ksi minimum tensile strength at room temperature; 1200°F maximum service temperature. Application: Studs covered by this specification are intended as a general purpose fastener with integrated keys which provide a positive mechanical resistance to rotation when installed and where a good combination of strength and resistance to relaxation at elevated temperature is required. Safety-hazardous materials: While the materials, methods, applications, and processes described or referenced in this specification may involve the use of hazardous materials, this specification does not address the hazards which may be involved in such use. It is the sole responsibility of the user to ensure familiarity with the safe and proper use of any hazardous materials and to take necessary precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of all personnel involved.
