This specification covers a corrosion and heat resistant nickel alloy in the form of round, square, and flat wire 0.500 inch (12.70 mm) and under in nominal diameter or thickness. This wire has been used typically for helical springs requiring optimum resistance to relaxation up to 1000 °F (538 °C) with moderate or relatively low stresses, but usage is not limited to such applications.
