This specification covers an aluminum alloy procured in the form of extruded bars, rods, wire, profiles (shapes) and tubing. These extrusions have been used typically for structural applications requiring a combination of high tensile strength and good corrosion resistance where intergranular attack is unacceptable, but usage is not limited to such applications.
