Scope

This standard specifies the functional architecture of the Manufacturing Automation Programming Environment (MAPLE). MAPLE is a common, vendor-independent, and neutral support environment for programming multiple manufacturing equipment and controls. In other words, MAPLE defines a single environment for programming that does not depend on various devices and controls made by multiple companies.
