This standard specifies a general method for measuring the optical rotation of chemical products in solution or liquid form. Remarks 1. Chemical products refer to all substances produced by chemical reactions, but if a standard for an individual product or a group of products specifies a measurement method different from this standard, the method specified in that standard will be used. . 2. Some chemical products are highly volatile, explosive, radioactive, etc., so testing safety cannot be ensured when using this standard. The methods specified in this standard are general methods and should be applied to cases where safety issues can be sufficiently confirmed in advance. 3.The measurement method specified in this standard is performed by irradiating the sample with light, so substances that are not stable to light are excluded from this scope of application. 4. The optical rotation of chemical products in this standard is generally measured at 20°C and expressed as specific optical rotation. 5. Reference standards for this standard are shown in Appendix I.
