- This standard specifies the design and testing requirements for bird strike resistance of civil aircraft structures. This standard applies to the bird strike resistance design and test requirements for windshields, fuselage, tail leading edges and other structures of newly developed transport aircraft with more than 19 passengers (excluding pilots). This standard also applies to the improvement and modification design of existing aircraft.
