The acoustic resonance method is suitable for detecting metal honeycomb bonded structures with a curvature radius of more than 500 mm. It can detect debonding defects in single skin and metal honeycomb structures with backing plates. The total thickness of the honeycomb sandwich upper plate of the tested structure can reach 2.8 mm. When the honeycomb core height is less than 20 mm, distal debonding defects can also be detected. It cannot detect mechanical adhesion defects, that is, two unbonded objects whose interface is an adhesion-type debonding defect with no air gap.
