This part specifies the thyristor valve test for static var compensation devices (SVC) with voltage levels of 6kV ~ 66 (63) kV. These thyristor valves are suitable for use as components of static var compensators (SVCs) for power transmission and distribution systems, namely thyristor controlled reactors (TCR), thyristor switched reactors (TSR) and thyristor switched capacitors (TSC). The contents covered in this section include the high-voltage part of the thyristor valve, the thyristor stage and its voltage equalizing absorption circuit, triggering power supply and valve control and protection and other related parts. This section is mainly applicable to a single valve unit (single-phase), but also applies to multiple valve units (multi-phase). For low-pressure valve testing, please refer to this section.
