- This standard specifies the inspection methods for the appearance, color, relative density, refractive index, initial boiling point, distillation range, acid value and components of turpentine. This standard applies to the inspection of gum turpentine. This standard is also applicable to the analysis and inspection of other production methods or sources of turpentine, pinene products separated from turpentine, and terpenoids derived from turpentine.
