Scope: This standard specifies the field test and handover principles of static var compensation (SVC). This standard does not include the factory test and simulation test of the components of the SVC system. The on-site test of SVC internal equipment, the on-site test of SVC subsystem and the on-site handover of the whole SVC system shall be completed by the supplier, and the on-site acceptance of the whole SVC system shall be carried out by the user or by mutual agreement. This standard applies to SVCs that use thyristor technology and are used in medium voltage (MV) and above power transmission and distribution systems and in industrial environments.
