Scope: This standard specifies the method for measuring the sound absorption coefficient of acoustic materials used to treat interfaces such as walls or ceilings, or the sound absorption of furniture, people, and space absorbers, etc., in a reverberation chamber. This method is not suitable for measuring the sound absorption characteristics of low damping resonators. Measurement results can be used for data comparison and design calculations regarding room acoustics and noise control.
