Scope: This standard specifies the safety requirements for hoisting metallurgical motors (including eddy current brakes), motors for elevators, motors for tower cranes and other construction machinery, motors for flat cars, conical rotor motors and shielded motors. This standard applies to all kinds of crane machinery and other similar equipment, metallurgical auxiliary equipment, elevators, tower cranes and other construction machinery, flat cars and other electric drive motors, as well as shielded motors used in petroleum, chemical and other industries for conveying that do not contain solid particles (In the following terms, all the above electric motors, including eddy current brakes, are collectively referred to as electric motors, except for some special provisions).
