Scope

This manual provides weapons system designers with the information necessary to implement the standard electrical connection systems specified in GJB 1188A-1999 in current and future aircraft and suspensions. This information includes but is not limited to: a) A detailed understanding of the requirements specified in GJB 1188A-1999; b) Determination of issues within the design scope that may affect interface compatibility; c) Design techniques that may be useful for implementing GJB 1188A-1999 , description of composition and design practices; d) Practical guidance and related principles for users of GJB 1188A-1999 to use in future applications. This manual is intended to serve as a guide in the consideration and selection of designs and options related to the inclusion of standard interface capabilities on aircraft hardpoints and the provision of common electrical interfaces on both payload and mission hangers.
