Scope: This standard specifies the test method for determining the residual content of emulsified asphalt using low-temperature vacuum distillation. This standard is suitable for the quantitative determination of residues of emulsified asphalt consisting mainly of semi-solid or liquid matrix asphalt, water, and emulsifiers. Emulsified asphalt usually contains polymeric substances. When distilled at a temperature of 260°C, the properties of the emulsified asphalt residue may change. Therefore, this standard is particularly suitable for determining the residue content of this type of emulsified asphalt. This standard does not involve safety regulations related to use. It is the responsibility of the user of the standard to develop appropriate safety application procedures before use.
