This prestandard specifies the properties and limit values currently regarded as necessary for the use of
rapeseed oil as fuel for vegetable oil-compatible combustion engines, together with the methods to be applied
for testing with regard to these properties.
The limit values are applicable to the properties the rapeseed oil fuel exhibits at the time of its transferral into
the fuel tank, shortly before use. The use of the rapeseed oil defined as fuel for vegetable oil-compatible
combustion engines by this standard is only admissible with the respective releases or guarantee bonds
issued by the engine manufacturers or retrofitters available. Further supplementary properties can be
incorporated into later editions of this prestandard once technical and analytical clarification has been
achieved.
