- Scope
- This standard establishes the basis for evaluating the aging of electrical insulating structures (EIS) under electrical, thermal, mechanical, environmental stress conditions or multifactorial stress conditions. This standard specifies the principles and procedures to be followed when formulating EIS functional test and evaluation procedures to determine the expected operating life of a specific insulation structure. This standard applies to all IEC technical committees (ETCs) responsible for equipment containing EIS.
