This standard specifies a method for determining the formation of deposits in engine oils under high temperature oxidation simulation test conditions (TEOST). This method is suitable for detecting the tendency of engine oil to produce deposits under high-temperature oxidation conditions. Inter-laboratory experimental studies have shown that this method can be used to determine samples with total deposits between 10 mg and 65 mg. This standard covers certain hazardous materials, operations and equipment, but is not intended to provide recommendations on all safety issues related thereto. Therefore, users should establish appropriate safety and protective measures and determine an applicable management system before using this standard. This standard uses [SI] International System of Units units.
