The sealing element described in this part of GB/T 21283 is a rotary shaft lip seal ring made of thermoplastic material. The sealing element is based on thermoplastic material such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and is made with appropriate coordination. This section establishes the vocabulary of rotating shaft lip seals whose sealing elements are thermoplastic materials. Some of the terms and definitions are found in GB/T 17446-1998. Note: GB/T 21283 and GB/T 13871 are complementary to each other. GB/T 13871 specifies elastomer sealing rings.
