Scope: This Standard applies to valves intended to be fitted to gas cylinders which convey compressed liquefied or dissolved gases. This Standard only applies to manually operated valves, e. g. by handwheel or key. This Standard does not apply not valves for cryogenic equipment or for fire extinguishers. Additional specific requirements for valves fitted with pressure-reducing, residual pressure-retaining (see prEN ISO 15996) and non-return devices are not covered by this Standard. Note: Requirements for valves for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) are specified in EN 13152 and EN 13153. Requirements for valves for cryogenic vessels are specified in EN 1626.
