Scope: This standard specifies the performance and tests of a dose area product with an ionization chamber, which is used to measure the dose area product and/or dose area product rate of a patient exposed to radiation during medical radiological examinations. The purpose of this standard is: 1) To establish a satisfactory level of performance for dose area multipliers. 2) Identify standardized methods consistent with these performance levels.
