- This standard specifies the requirements for the nameplate of the worm gear, recommends the center distance of the worm gear and the parameters provided to the manufacturer, so as to manufacture qualified worm gear products. This standard also applies to open worm drives with regard to the preferred center distances, the parameters provided to the manufacturer for machining and the required application parameters. This standard applies to worm drives with a center distance ≦500mm.
