Scope: This part is a part of the national standard GB/T 19816 concerning the sampling and testing of metallic abrasives for blast cleaning. Types of metallic abrasives and requirements for each type are covered in various parts of ISO 11124. ISO 11124 and GB/T 19816 are a series of standards related to metal abrasives for jetting. See Appendix A for all information on these two series of standards. This part of GB/T 19816 specifies the test method for the determination of foreign impurities in metal abrasives for blast cleaning. The purpose of this test is to determine the degree of contamination of the abrasive by foreign matter. The content of foreign impurities such as oxides, smelting residues, etc. is determined by magnetic separation.
