- This standard specifies the general requirements and other relevant requirements for the ship's sound and light alarm signals and identification marks, and explains the requirements for alarm, call and indicators. This standard applies to the setting of internal auditory alarms, visual alarms, calls and instructions related to the safety of passengers, crew or ships, equipment and cargo. This standard does not apply to acousto-optic signals for ship navigation. Offshore mobile drilling platforms can refer to this standard.
