- This British Standard specifies particulars for single-start, clearance-fit threads in inch units having the ISO besic profile given inISO recommendation R.68, and Part 1 comtains the diameter/pitch combinations for 1/4 inch diameter and above given in (draft) ISO recommendation 362. This part of the standard is devoted to general particulars relating to these screw threads,and in particular it includes nominal sizes and limits of size for standard threads fo the following series: A coarse thread series (UNC) from 1/4 to 4 inches diameter. diameter; A fine thread series (UNF) from 1/4 to 3/2 inches diameter. An extra fine thread series (UNEF) from 1/4 in to 27/16 inches diameter. A 4-threads series (4 UN) from 21/8 to 6 inches diameter. A 6-threads series (6 UN) from 23/16 in to 6 inches diameter. A 8-threads series (8 UN) from 17/16 in to 6 inches diameter. A 12-threads series (12 UN) from 5/8 in to 6 inches diameter. A 16-threads series (16 UN) from 7/16 in to 6 inches diameter. A 20-threads series (20 UN) from 5/16 in to 3 inches diameter. A 28-threads series (28 UN) from 5/16 in to 3/2 inches diameter. A 32-threads series (32 UN) from 7/16 in to 1 inches diameter.
