Scope

Vane testing is suitable for water water-saturated, cohesive or organic soils of soft to stiff consistency. The document applies to field investigations for determining the shearing strength of the non-drained soil (see DIN 18137-1) by means of standardized equipment. Vane testing is employed for measuring the resistance of the soil in case of shearing, by means of field testing. The document describes are the vane testing apparatus, the procedure and the evaluation of the test.#,,#
