This standard applies to the rated input power of magnetic circuit ballasts (hereinafter referred to as ballasts) used for lighting fluorescent lamps and low-pressure mercury lamps (hereinafter referred to as lamps) as specified in JIS C 7601 and JIS C 7605. This specifies the AC voltage (50Hz only, 60Hz only, and 50Hz-60Hz shared) of 300V or less, the rated secondary voltage of 1000V or less, and used in general locations.
