JIS C 2814-2-4:2001 Connecting devices for low-voltage circuits for household and similar purposes -- Part 2-4: Particular requirements for twist-on connecting devices
This standard specifies screw-in type connecting devices that connect two or more rigid and/or flexible wires with a cross-sectional area of 0.5 mm2 or more and 16 mm2 or less according to IEC 60228 or related JIS without any special processing of the terminals. The total cross-sectional area of the connecting wires shall be 35 mm2 or less. Applicable to products used in low voltage circuits of 1000V AC or 1500V DC or less for household use and similar purposes. This standard is used in conjunction with JIS C 2814-1. In this standard, screw-in type connectors are abbreviated as TOCD. This standard applies primarily to TOCDs designed for manual use. However, those for wires with large cross-sections may require tools specifically designed for that purpose. Note: The corresponding international standards for this standard are shown below. The symbols representing the degree of correspondence are IDT (matched), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) based on ISO/IEC Guide 21.
