This standard specifies acceptable limits for edge and corner sharpness to reduce the risk of damage to operators or maintenance personnel when operating and servicing earthmoving equipment. This standard applies to equipment for boarding and disembarking operating shells and maintenance shells as specified in JIS A 8301 and JIS A 8302, and to transportation equipment, and to the driver's seat of earth-moving machines as specified in JIS A 8308.
