This International Standard specifies requirements for self-declared product environmental claims, including legends, symbols and figures. This standard further specifies selected terms that are commonly used in environmental claims and specifies limitations on the use of such terms. This standard also specifies general evaluation and verification methods for self-declared environmental claims and specific evaluation and verification methods for selected key strengths in this standard. This standard is not intended to be modified in any way to exclude or supersede legally required environmental information, claims, labels, or other applicable legal requirements.
