This part specifies the general requirements for safe entry into machinery mentioned in GB/T 15706.2, and gives recommendations for the correct selection of entry facilities when entry is required and machinery cannot be entered directly from the ground or floor. This section applies to all fixed and mobile machinery with fixed access facilities. This section applies to access facilities that are part of a machine. This section may also apply to access to machinery installed in a building as part of the building (e.g. working platforms, walkways, ladders), provided that the main function of this part of the building is to provide fixed means of access to the machinery. This section also applies to access facilities that are not permanently fixed to the machine and where certain operations on the machine may have to be removed or moved to the side (for example: changing tools for a large press). This section does not apply to elevators, movable lifting platforms, or other devices designed specifically for the lifting of persons between two levels of planes.
