Scope
The JIS B 0090 family of standards specifies the representation of design and functional requirements for optical elements and systems in drawings used for manufacturing and inspection. This International Standard specifies the conventions for indicating surface profile tolerances. NOTE: Interferometric terminology is used for the specification of tolerances, and in particular for the units in which the tolerances are specified. However, this does not mean that only interferometric methods can be used for the actual inspection of optical components. Other non-intrusive methods may be used if the results are converted to the units specified here. This standard applies to both spherical and aspheric surfaces. Note: JIS B 0090-12 allows surface shape tolerances for aspheric surfaces that are specified without reference to this standard. Annex A and Annex B describe methods for determining types of surface profile deviations. Annex C gives the physical meaning of the root mean square (rms) surface profile deviation. Note: The corresponding international standards for this standard are shown below. The symbols representing the degree of correspondence are IDT (matched), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) based on ISO/IEC Guide 21.
