- 1.1 This standard specifies how to measure the sound pressure level on a measurement surface surrounding a sound source and how to calculate the sound power level generated by the sound source. This standard specifies the method for determining the sound pressure level at the measurement surface for calculating the A-weighted sound power level of the sound source and the octave band or 1/3 octave band sound power level, and Establish requirements for test environments and measurement equipment.
