Scope

This standard specifies the method for testing the flame retardancy of boards, plates, sheets, films, thick fabrics and similar flat materials less than 5 mm thick using the 450 Meckel burner method. However, this test method cannot be applied to effectively evaluate the flame retardancy of materials with poor performance that does not meet the level 3 flame retardancy specified in 2.1.
