Scope

This standard specifies the preparation, marking and measurement methods of textile fabrics, garments and fabric components for the determination of dimensional changes caused by washing, dry cleaning, water immersion or steaming. This standard applies to woven fabrics, knitted fabrics and weft-inserted products, and does not apply to those products that can be easily stretched in use, such as certain knitwear and furniture coverings.
