Scope
This standard specifies the measurement and reporting methods for air noise of information technology equipment and communication equipment, and is an integral part of the noise test procedures for information technology equipment and communication equipment. Based on T 6882 and GB/T 17248.2. Its basic measurement is the A-weighted sound power level, which can be used to compare the same type of equipment or different equipment from different manufacturers. Taking into account the status of existing equipment and instruments, this standard specifies three basic standards for the determination of the sound power level of emitted noise. The first basic standard ISO 3741 is a comparative measurement method in a reverberation chamber, and the other two basic standards GB/T 3767 and GB/T 6882 are measurement methods under approximately free-field conditions above a reflective surface. When determining the sound power level of equipment, any one of the three standards can be used according to this standard. As a supplement to the A-weighted sound power level, the A-weighted sound pressure level at the operator's position or the position of the personnel present can be measured according to the basic standard of emission noise GB/T 17248.2. Although the A-weighted sound pressure level is not the exposure evaluation sound level of the staff position, it can help to identify any potential impacts such as noise annoyance, work disturbance or hearing damage that may be caused by operators and on-site personnel. Methods for determining whether emitted noise contains significant discrete pure tone or impulsive noise are specified in Appendix D and Appendix E, respectively. This standard applies to type tests and provides test methods for manufacturers and laboratory institutions to obtain comparable data. The method specified in this standard allows a single test unit to perform noise emission level measurements. This standard can be applied to equipment emitting broadband noise, narrowband noise, noise containing discrete frequency components or impulse noise. The obtained sound power level and sound pressure level can be used for labeling and comparison of emitted noise (see ISO 9296). Although it should not be used as the noise exposure level of equipment, it can be used as a reference for equipment design (see ECMA TR/27). If the sound power level obtained is determined for several devices in the same product family, this sound power level can be used to determine the statistical value of the sound power level of the product family (see ISO 9296).
