Scope
This standard describes a method for improving the comparability of test results by calculating the stresses in alloy layers of plain bearings that cause fatigue [see Appendix A (standard appendix)]. The same calculation is also required in practical applications, because the stress is caused by the pressure generated by the hydrodynamic oil film, so it is necessary to fully clarify the operating and lubrication conditions, in addition to dynamic loads, dimensions and operating characteristics, but also for fatigue The system makes the following detailed regulations: a) Under dynamic load conditions, the minimum oil film thickness of the bearing bush that changes with time and position should ensure that no local overheating or shearing due to mixed lubrication can occur during running-in; b) Under dynamic load Under the conditions, the pressure distribution in the circumferential direction and the axial direction with time; c) The stress that changes with time and position in the bearing alloy layer, especially the maximum alternating stress. In addition, the fatigue strength of plain bearings may be affected by mixed lubrication, wear, dirt, tribochemical reactions, and other in-use effects that complicate the fatigue problem. Therefore, this standard strictly limits the fatigue strength to the condition that the surface of the bearing pad is completely separated by the lubricant oil film by the hydrodynamic pressure. This standard applies to oil-lubricated cylindrical plain bearings in test rigs and applications operating under conditions of full hydrodynamic lubrication. It includes dynamic loading under bimetallic and multilayer metallic plain bearings.
