Scope
This standard gives advices for the application of the different climate characteristics. These recommendations shall provide ergonomic measures in order to beware human beings of injury to their health because of heat. The document can be seen as a supplement to DIN EN 12515 and DIN EN 27243. The document specifies requirements for the applications of climate characteristics to workplaces classified as warm or hot, i.e. those exceeding the range of comfort. The severity of work as well as clothing worn during work have been taken into account. The climate characteristics listed below are described, and measurement and data recording guidelines given: Basic Effective Temperature, BET, normal effective temperature NET, Wet bulb globe temperature WBGT, required sweet rate SWreq. They apply to working places with regular climatic loading and only to people who are acclimatised against heat.
