Scope

This part of IEC 60880 is applicable to the software of computer-based safety systems in nuclear power plants. It gives requirements for software for category A functions, systems and associated equipment (FSE). It addresses · defence against common cause failures, caused by software; · automated tools for the development of software important to safety; and · use of pre-developed software. Preparation and confirmation of data is dealt with within these three topics as appropriate.
