—This International Standard provides guidance on the development of sampling plans, selection of equipment and techniques for sampling the quality of wet deposits. It does not discuss rainfall measurements. —This standard does not cover dry deposition or other types of wet deposition, such as mist, fog, or cloud water, as their measurement is still in the research stage. However, it is important to note its importance, as research has shown that its load can sometimes be equal to or exceed that of precipitation. Therefore, it is rarely possible to calculate the total load using precipitation data alone.
